A natural extension of the NoHo landmark Il Buco, Alimentari & Vineria is a bustling market-style spot specializing in house-cured meats and home-baked breads. As with its Bond Street forebear, honest-Italian influences permeate the menus, but this casual Il Buco incarnation also serves breakfast and brunch (try the torta pasqualina of Tuscan kale, farm eggs, and Parmigiano). The space is the original site of Great Jones Lumber Supply, and owner Donna Lennard (with the help of legendary Chelsea gallerist David Zwirner) went to considerable lengths to repurpose elements from the original structure for the dining-room design. Portions of the salvaged wood were even used to create the long, communal-style tables that make the atmosphere so famously intimate.
