Situated in the basement level of the five-star Greenwich Hotel, the Shibui is a Japanese-inspired spa rooted in what it calls “a philosophy of balance,” in which traditional meets modern, and nature meets city. The spacious facility includes a 1,000-foot fitness center, five individual treatment rooms, a traditional Japanese soaking tub, and, most famously, a lantern-lit heated swimming pool (by which guests can book a private yoga or Pilates session). Shibui’s services, designed to incorporate organic plant-based products, include soaks, body treatments, massages (on a tatami floor), waxing, and facials (guests can choose from In Fiore or Natura Bisse potions). We recommend the Drunken Lotus massage for its sake-soaked towels, to soothe and awaken tired muscles.
