Located in an exquisite townhouse in the Colonia Roma neighborhood, Rosetta is one of chef Elena Reygadas’s three restaurants in Mexico City (the others are Panadería Rosetta, a café-bakery, and Lardo, a Mediterranean-focused spot). The theme in this pastel-painted space is seasonal, market-based Italian fare with an emphasis on local ingredients and distinctly Mexican touches (think reimagined tamale and mole dishes). The handmade pasta is a work of art, as are plates like sea-urchin risotto, and quail with farro, dates, and mustard. Reygadas’s talents earned her the Veuve Clicquot Prize in 2014 for Latin America’s Best Female Chef, and Rosetta recently earned a spot on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Don’t forget to swing by her nearby Panadería for standout bread, pastries, and coffee.
