At 7 p.m., a green light turns on at the entrance of Maison Artemisia, to announce the opening of the cozy French bistro’s upstairs bar, The Salon de Cocteles. Serving only light snacks and cocktails (downstairs, full French plates are offered), the joint is chic, intimate, and boozy. Nimble bartenders in suspenders (or black dresses and pearls) set the mood against a modernized Art Deco interior, an aesthetic match for the bar’s absinthe-forward menu. Before a meeting with the Green Fairy, though, get things started with the Cilantriõ, a fresh and woody citrus drink. If you’re heading here after hours, arrive early to avoid the long lines.
