Though squeezing an impeccably restored 1960s credenza into a checked bag may be unrealistic, visitors to Mexico City’s Polanco neighborhood would be remiss to pass up a visit to Decada, one of the city’s most impressive shops for mid-century antiques and furniture. Owners Cecília Tena and Lucia Corredor travel back and forth from Polanco to Berlin, Europe, Los Angeles, and New York to source finds like Herman Miller tables and chairs, Anglepoise lamps, and vintage barware. Though any item can be packed for shipping, there are plenty of smaller items (silver vases, table lighters, etc.) that stow easily in a carry-on.
