In the past, finding a copy of one’s preferred design magazine or coffee-table book in Mexico City was sometimes a challenge. But now, thanks to Casa Bosques, a whitewashed renovated home in La Roma stocked with hard-to-find titles, that’s no longer the case. The store feels more like someone’s beautifully appointed apartment rather than a shop, with Jean Prouvé chairs nestled among green plants, and expansive custom-designed wooden shelves filled with independent titles selected by an expert curatorial team. Shoppers may stay and skim to their heart’s content (we recommend curling up with a magazine and one of the store’s own small-batch chocolate bars). A second location in Polanco’s mini shopping complex, Anatole 13, is worth a stop too.
