Opened to great fanfare in 2015, the Broad is a 120,000-square-foot contemporary-art museum on Grand Street founded by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad. The white honeycomb-looking structure, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, houses more than 2,000 works of post-war and contemporary art, making the Broad one of the leading holders in the category. It is also home to the Broad Foundation, which has been lending works to museums internationally since 1984. Artists represented at the Broad include Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kasuma, Jeff Koons, Ed Ruscha, and Kara Walker; the museum boasts the world’s largest collection of Cindy Sherman photographs. Admission is free.
