Founded in 1994 in Santa Monica, Blum & Poe represents a diverse roster of emerging local artists and established international masters (think Lee Ufan and Takashi Murakami), with additional gallery locations in New York and Tokyo. Blum & Poe’s intra-city move from Santa Monica to Culver City—where it occupies a 22,000-square-foot space, as well as an adjacent office building—is widely credited as the birthplace of the Culver City Arts District, which has been instrumental in raising the international profile of L.A.-based artists.
